About

The plain part of the paper.

What AXIS is, what it is not, and how it is written.

AXIS Intelligence & Research is an editorially independent publication of open-source intelligence and geopolitical risk analysis. It exists to answer one honest question a reader might have each morning — what happened, why it matters, and what to do about it — without the theatre of the ordinary news cycle.

Our daily edition, The Diplomatic Update, is compiled by a combination of analytical staff and a curated set of open-source indicators: NASA's Fire Information for Resource Management System, the Armed Conflict Location & Event Database, open channels on Telegram, and Open-Meteo's weather archive. Every claim we make can be traced to a primary signal.

Method

We do not chase the wire. We do not publish rumour. Twice each day, our research desk produces a longer analytical brief on a region or theme — the second half of the paper, if you will. Once each morning, an edition of the paper is set to press. Between the two, our live feed carries indicators of the moment, so that a reader who needs the latest signal has it, and the reader who needs the longer view has it too.

Coverage

Global, with an operational focus on the Indian subcontinent, the Sahel, the Eastern European frontier, and the Indo-Pacific. Weather anomalies and wildfire signals are tracked globally. Bespoke risk assessments are commissioned by region and subject; see our pricing page for the plain terms.

Ownership

AXIS is privately held and independently financed. It carries no advertising, accepts no sponsored placements, and pursues no political affiliation. Its editorial line begins and ends with what the signals say.
